About Us

The Greater Federation of Woman's Clubs NC (GFWC-NC) started in 1902, consists of over 150 clubs and over 5,000 members, just in North Carolina!  The purpose of the GFWC-NC club work is to offer opportunities for growth and development to its members and to respond to the needs of the people through community service.

Departments 
Our club focuses on projects that help our local, national, and international communities. The program work of GFWC-NC is administered through six departments and different projects are highlighted below. 

Arts 

Works to promote the awareness of the Arts in local community.
~ Supports Local Arts Festival & District IV Arts Festival
~ Supports Local Theatre Groups
~ Donates Supplies to children

Conservation

Promotes local programs that beautify our community and support awareness of our natural resources.
~ Educates on issues such as global warming, carbon footprints and waste reduction.

Education

Supports area schools, provide scholarship for an area Senior and promote literacy within the club.
~ Awards Sallie Southall Cotten
Scholarship for local Senior.

Home Life

Focuses on local issues and wellness within our community.
~ Continual support of the Murdoch Center

~Continual support of the Boys and Girls Club
~ Supported American Red Cross Blood Drive

International Affairs

Supports projects throughout the world by raising funds and awareness.
~ Pantry Raid:  "Food Bandits" raided all Juniors pantries to support local food banks.
~ Sewed dolls for Operation Smile to help children in other countries understand surgery

Public Relations

Works to promote our club, recognize local public safety resources, and promote crime prevention in our community

~ Promoted safety during the holiday season by inviting local area police to guest lecture.
